Our Work is Just Getting Started

At The NATE Foundation, we turn heartbreak into healing by creating resources, funding futures, and supporting those affected by loss. Our work is grounded in compassion and built to bring hope to grieving communities.

Tragedy may shake us, but it doesn’t define the ending—it’s where our work begins.

1. Grief Playbook & Campus Support

When tragedy strikes, many schools are unprepared. We help them respond with compassion and confidence.

We’re developing a practical, research-informed grief response playbook for high schools and colleges. This toolkit is designed to help institutions begin the healing process when a student dies unexpectedly.

Our support includes:
– Step-by-step guidance for administrators, faculty, and staff
– Talking points for teachers and professors
– Ideas for on-campus memorials and safe grieving spaces
– Recommendations for communications and support timelines

2. Scholarships for Future Grief Counselors

We believe healing begins with those trained to help.

To encourage more compassionate professionals in grief care, we support scholarships for students pursuing careers in:
– Counseling and mental health
– Grief education and crisis response

Our first pilot program is launching in partnership with the University of South Carolina, with plans to expand as funding grows.

3. Connecting People to Grief Resources

No one should have to face grief alone—or search endlessly for help.

We are developing a curated collection of links to existing grief counselor directories and pro bono mental health support. In the future, we aim to create a nationwide, searchable database of providers committed to helping grieving youth and families.

4. Supporting Other Grief-Focused Nonprofits

Together, we are stronger.

The NATE Foundation provides financial and volunteer support to other nonprofits doing meaningful work in the grief, mental health, and youth recovery spaces.

All supported partnerships are reviewed and approved by our board after thorough research and volunteer recommendations.
